After reading the sorrowful and complex news from Brazil, written by Gustavo Nogueira, I admit that, although I have my own opinion about that situation, It is not a consensual though all of the people and around the world and deserve to discussions.
The case can be summarized in the following transliteration of Gustavo Nogueira on April 2011:
Letter sent from a mother to another mother in Sao Paulo, after news on TV
I saw your strong protest in front of television cameras against the transfer of your child, juvenile offender, from the FEBEM dependencies in Sao Paulo for another FEBEM dependency within the State. You've complained about the distance that now separates your son, the difficulties and costs to visit him, as well as other problems arising from that transfer. I also saw all the media coverage. I've already noticed that not only you but also other mothers sharing the same situation have the support of the Pastoral Committees, Agencies and Entities for the Defense of Human Rights, NGOs, etc ...
I've already disclosed that I have my own opinion: Both families must be treated and supported... Always...
When support is needed, it must to be requested with strong argues, with honesty and faith. Showing our own side, own pain, own necessity, own comprehension... To achieve own rights it's not necessary to take off the others' rights!
Human Rights are for all!!!!!!!!
MOTHER-TO-MOTHER
I saw your strong protest in front of television cameras against the transfer of your child, juvenile offender, from the FEBEM dependencies in Sao Paulo for another FEBEM dependency within the State. You've complained about the distance that now separates your son, the difficulties and costs to visit him, as well as other problems arising from that transfer. I also saw all the media coverage. I am also a mother, and thus can well understand their protest. I want to resonate it. Despite the tremendous distance that now separates myself from my son, like you I've been working hard for some fell coins and living similar difficulties and costs to visit him. With much sacrifice, I can only do it on Sundays due to my extra job on Saturdays to help support and educate the rest of the family.Fortunately I count on my worthy husband, which plays an important role for me as a friend and spiritual advisor.- If you don't know me; I am the mother of that young man who was killed by your son in an assault on a video store, where he, my son, worked during the day to pay for his education at night. Next Sunday, when you would be hugging, kissing and caressing your son, I'll be visiting the humble tomb and putting some flowers there, in a cemetery on the outskirts of Sao Paulo
Just one last information: even in the cemetery or in my house, no representative of these "entities" ever showed up offering some support, comfort or advice, neither mentioning me "My Rights"!
Is there some flipped value in Brazil?
Has some of these mothers no reason to complain? If, human rights were just for trustworthy humans, who can guarantee witch one is not trustworthy? Who does not deserve the human rights? Is it possible to be happy, sleep well and have no worries or bad feelings as a mother of a murder?I've already disclosed that I have my own opinion: Both families must be treated and supported... Always...
When support is needed, it must to be requested with strong argues, with honesty and faith. Showing our own side, own pain, own necessity, own comprehension... To achieve own rights it's not necessary to take off the others' rights!
